Introduction:

Sbey Research Center is at the forefront of groundbreaking research, dedicated to advancing knowledge in political dynamics, economics, human rights, and freedom of speech. Our Research Internship Program offers a unique opportunity for aspiring researchers to immerse themselves in cutting-edge projects alongside experienced professionals. Under the mentorship of our esteemed team, interns gain hands-on experience in conducting research, analyzing data, and contributing to innovative solutions that have a real-world impact.

Interns:

We proudly introduce our interns for this session: Lanya Ibrahim, Rania Awat, and Sana Mohammed. These individuals bring a wealth of academic prowess, passion for research, and a genuine interest in our focus areas, making them invaluable members of our team.

Internship Overview:

As Research Interns at Sbey Research Center, participants engage in a 15-week commitment (with the possibility of extension) where they assist in planning and executing research experiments and projects. They delve into literature reviews, gather relevant materials, and analyze data using various methodologies. Throughout the program, interns collaborate with team members, attend seminars, and contribute to research reports and academic publications.

Internship Outcomes:

Upon completion of the program, interns achieve significant milestones:

  • Factual Knowledge of Kurdistan Region: Interns gain comprehensive understanding of the region's historical emergence, geopolitical dynamics, and sociological factors.
  • Mastery of International Relations and Political Economy: They delve into key concepts and theories, equipping themselves with frameworks to analyze Kurdistan's place in global politics and economics.
  • Understanding Causes of Conflict and Security Issues: Interns articulate underlying causes of regional instability, enhancing their ability to analyze crises within the Kurdistan Regional Government.
  • Analysis of KRG Oil Impact: Interns analyze the implications of KRG oil production on regional and international political economies, recognizing its significance in the energy sector.
  • Proficiency in Foreign Policy Analysis: Participants develop foundational skills to assess foreign policies affecting the Kurdistan Region.
  • Application of Analytical Tools: Interns acquire methodologies to assess political, economic, and social trends within the KRG.
  • Comprehension of Regional Rivalries: They study regional and international rivalries impacting the region's stability and development.
  • Analytical Skills Development: Interns hone their ability to scrutinize and interpret regional events, providing informed insights and assessments.

Departmental Objectives:

The internship aligns with departmental objectives, fostering critical reading, promoting critical thinking, enhancing communication skills, empowering research competence, cultivating regional insight, analyzing contextual factors, evaluating theoretical frameworks, and applying theoretical and practical approaches.
